A lot of you have been asking about the back trip to the Bob Marshall wilderness June 21-27. There’s going to be an info meeting on Sunday March 9 at 7 pm in the fellowship hall with Pastor Marty Kaarre from Athelas Outdoor Ministry. Pastor Marty will be our guide, and his wife will help us cook. The cost for the trip will be $235: which includes transportation, food, and guide fees. You will need your own equipment. [The youth program will be purchasing some equipment that will be available on a first come-first serve basis. We're looking at sleeping bags and backpacks.] We can take 12 students. If you want to go, a $100 deposit will save you a spot. It’s refundable up until 2 weeks before departure. After that, you have two choices: find someone to take your place, or lose the money. Choice one sounds pretty good to me!

During the trip you will have opportunity for challenge, drawing closer to God, traveling through pristine wilderness, and exploring Christian leadership using the servant leadership of Jesus as our example. If interest is high, we have a shorter four day trip booked later in July.

Youth Center Progress

February 27, 2008

I know everyone has been wondering what’s up with the youth center. We don’t have an opening date, yet, but some very cool stuff is happening. First of all, paint, bathroom tile, heating, lighting, doors and windows are all done. This week all the flooring goes in: carpet in the activity area, and rubber flooring for the entry and storage areas. We still have to hang the bathroom fixtures, but that should go pretty quick. [or we'll all have to run pretty quick across the parking lot to use the rest room...]

Big news is that we received a $5000 donation today for sound and technology. This will no doubt pay for an overhead digital projector, screen, and media computer. How would you like to watch the superbowl on a 60″ screen?! We’re also looking at installing a server so we can have wireless internet. Pool table, other game tables and furniture will get moved in when the flooring is done. More later. Peace out! Pastor Greg

A New Start

February 26, 2008

Hey everyone, Pastor Greg here. I thought I’d start a blog to make our trinity youth website  a bit more interactive. Please feel free to post on the blog. All opinions are welcome: especially those offered in a kind way. My daughter’s cat Katie is a case in point. Katie has two speeds: sleeping and psycho-kitty. When she’s sleeping she’s useless. When she’s in psycho-kitty mode she’s dangerous hissing feline fanatic. Hopefully all of our posts will land somewhere in between: not too sleepy, and not too dangerous.

I want to post questions here: yours and mine. I want to post devotional thoughts and bible studies to help you in your walk with the Lord. I’ll post news items, updates, and thoughts on things that are too much work to upload to the website. If I think of anything else, I’ll post that, too.
