Superchick Concert and Lock-in, last update

Between us and the group from Missoula we’ll have about 50 participants! Meet at the church parking lot on Saturday May 3rd at 5:45 pm. We’ll load up on the bus and drive to the Christian Center at 6.

For those just attending the lock-in, we’ll come back from the concert by about 10: meet us at the Youth Center. We’ll have some pizza, do some high energy games, spend time in the word, put on a pajama fashion show, and roll the movies by about 2 am. Church on Sunday morning is at 9:30 am. Be sure to bring $3 for pizza!

Bring a sleeping bag, pad, bible and overnight stuff. We’ll feed you donuts and juice in the morning. Looking forward to a great time…see you then!

Youth Center Dedication

We’re dedicating our brand new youth center May 4th right after third service. [about 12:15 pm] Come check out the new building, enjoy a light brunch, and dedicate this new facility for God’s work.

Getting out of your comfort zone?

 

Uncomfortable? QUICK, CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!

I just got back from a mission trip to Mexico. Did God show up? You bet. Did we make a difference in some people’s lives. Definitely. Was I uncomfortable? Yup…most of the time. I was separated from my family, my dog, and my espresso machine. They fed us beans all week. I wasn’t out of my comfort zone: I WAS IN ANOTHER ZIP CODE.

We find very creative ways to avoid being uncomfortable because, normally, our worlds are full of a lot of other choices. When things get weird or boring or hard we change the channel. But, the funny thing is that God does his best work when we’re out of our comfort zones. We find that we need to trust him because we’ve run out of options. At the end of ourselves we find God: patiently waiting with his gifts to help us on our way. In your walk of faith discomfort is almost always an opportunity to find out just how serious Jesus is about you. Jesus endured the ultimate discomfort of the cross. He knows how to get us through the toughest times.

Put down that remote and watch what Jesus can do!

Superchick concert and lock-in

Superchick concert Saturday May 3rd at the Christian Center, Kalispell. Tickets are $15 for the group rate: signup sheet is outside the fellowship hall. Optional lock-in will be at the Youth Center afterward. Our friends from Missoula are coming up to join us for a super great time. Sunday morning we’ll share a muffin and juice breakfast and head across the parking lot for 9:30 worship. This event is for grades 7-12!
