After another 20″ of snow last weekend at Badger Pass, we’re not able to get into the Bob for our June 21st trip. Snow depth at Badger still stands at 85″ as of today. We’re talking to our guide about some dates later in the summer. If you can’t go, your deposits will be refunded. I’ll be in touch with all of you by phone this weekend.

Lawn help wanted

May 20, 2008

If you’re interested in some work during the summer, this might be for you. One of our members needs someone to do lawn and yardwork 7 hours a week for the entire summer. Pay is pretty good-and you’ll need your own transportation. If interested contact Pastor Greg.

We’ve gotten a lot of questions about whether we’re still planning to go to the Bob Marshall June 21-27.  The cold spring and deep snow pack are important things to keep in mind. The 5 days of above average temps have melted 20″ of snow depth at Badger Pass. The next few days have rain in the forecast…and that will help, too. We’re keeping an eye on the situation. You can too: snow conditions. As of today, Birch Creek and the Two Medicine River that drain the section of the Bob where we’re going, are near flood stage-which means the snow is melting!

Our guide will walk the entire route a week before our departure date. If it’s impossible, we’ll have two options. First, we can reschedule for later in the summer, or second, you will be refunded your entire deposit.

Pray for warm weather!

On Saturday May 31 from 9-3 pm we’ll take a ride on Going to the Sun Road on our bikes. Meet at the church at 9 am with your bike, lunch, 2 quarts of water, and light jacket. We’ll go as far as we are able: definitely to avalanche, and possibly to west tunnel. Please let us know, so we can plan on transportation. Bring $5 for gas and park admission.

So what do you guys want to do as we head into summer? We’ve already had some requests for a bike ride on Going to the Sun Road. I’m looking forward to planned and spontaneous barbeque’s at the youth center this summer. One of our members has invited us to canoe down the Whitefish river to his property. We can book a rafting trip, go camping, mountain bike at Big Mountain…pretty much anything.

If you have an idea please post it so all of us can hear about it. Looking forward to hearing from you!

BTW, the guy with his head in the water is not me. I think it’s probably Andrew the two-wheel wild man…

He’s back. Gnome guy is wandering through the world seeking the meaning of life. His cousin Rupert has made his fortune being laughed at on Travelocity commercials. Gnome Guy wants more. He was discovered this morning in pastor Greg’s office. Where will he turn up next?

P.S. I’m not a troll!

Imagine yourself back at camp. Imagine yourself hanging out with friends you’ve known for years. Imagine yourself getting Trinity Camp ready for a new season!

If you need a ride, meet at the church at 4 pm on Friday May 16. We’ll arrive at the camp at about 5 pm. IF YOU NEED A RIDE CALL PASTOR GREG at the church office 257-5683. I’m not going down with you guys Friday night because of confiormation questioning.

Brian will feed you pizza, lead you in some devotions, and  play underground church. After breakfast on Saturday morning we’ll put the work gloves on and clean until lunch time.

Be sure to bring sleeping bag, bible, and overnight stuff. All the food and fun is…FREE. See you then!
