On the Verge of Nothing and Everything

This is a conversation between a person and the Lord. Take a few minutes and think about the truth of the words, and let them lead you into prayer…

This is where I want you to be. You ask that I deliver you. Then do not be uneasy about it; do not teach Me, and do not teach yourself; surrender yourself to Me. I am competent to be your Master. I will lead you in a way that is pleasing to Me. You think it wrong if things do not go as you feel they should. But your thinking harms you and hinders Me. Things must go, not according to your understanding but above your understanding. Submerge yourself in a lack of understanding, and I will give you My understanding. Lack of understanding is real understanding; not knowing where you are going is really knowing where you are going. My understanding makes you without understanding. Thus Abraham went out from his homeland and did not know where he was going (Gen. 12:1 ff.). He yielded to My knowledge and abandoned his own knowledge; and by the right way he reached the right goal. Behold, that is the way of the cross. You cannot find it, but I must lead you like a blind man. Therefore not you, not a man, not a creature, but I, through My Spirit and the Word, will teach you the way you must go. You must not follow the work which you choose, not the suffering which you devise, but that which comes to you against your choice, thoughts, and desires. There I call; there you must be a pupil.

True Love Waits: Feb 11, 2009…Hope and Healing

         

True Love Waits is not just another one of those “Good Christians wait until they’re married” gatherings. It’s also about hope and healing. It’s about a God who loves us even when we make mistakes…and wants to restore us when we do. This year we’re meeting on Wed Feb 11, 7-8:30 pm at The Christian Center. All the youth groups in the valley will be gathering for this event. Worship will be led by the youth praise team from New Covenant. Admission is FREE.

Beach Volley Ball…high school youth night

Hey, so what if it’s winter! Beach volley ball and other games over at the school gym. Refreshments afterwards at the youth center. Bring shorts and a hawaiian shirt. Come have a groovy time…Wed Jan 14, 7-9 pm

Upcoming Concerts

Veteran Green is rock and roll. Veteran Green is masculine. Veteran Green is sensitive. Veteran Green is life. Gotee Recrording Artist, John Reuben says “big songs with a very personal feel!” Will McGinness. from Audio Adrenaline and Flicker Records says Veteran Green captures “A modern expression of passion and energy, blending wonderful melodic textures …with powerful themes….”

Luke Dowler and Veteran Green will be here Friday Feb 6 at the youth center. Coffee bar opens at 7 pm, concert at 8 pm. Admission is $5…tickets available at the church office, youth center, or at the door. This concert is for students grades 9-12.

 

 

Captive Free Music & Ministry team. This group of college aged young adults ministers in several states for a full year. They have a faith encouraging program of music, testimonies, and puppetry to inspire people of all ages.

Friday Feb 27th, 7 pm at the Youth Center. Admission is 2$ ! The concert is open to all students grades 5-12

January High School Youth Activities

Jan 7th: All HS students meet in home groups

Jan 14th: Beach night in the Trinity school gym…wear your beach clothes! Play beach volleyball!

Jan 16th: Friday Night Live High School drop-in program 7-10:30. Come stay as long as you want! Tonight we’re doing a board game marathon and movie.

Jan 21st: Faith that makes a difference…a bible study on meeting the challenges of life

Jan 28th: Praise and Worship Night led by out student worship team
